Since 1999, Dan Namura has been using prototypes of the cloth in his house,
testing them out on windows, beds, sofas, tables...etc. and making changes the original size little by little.
After a lot of trial and error, he arrived at this size of 140x230cm for one cloth.
The best size and basic cloth for daily life, this is "14-23".
It can easily be used as a curtain or tapestry by simply putting the cloth with the clips. Folding the top of cloth in front for a gentle accent, and folding it backwards for a sharp look. Choosing a clip design is also fun.
Covering the cloth on the bed changes the whole room into a gentle and warm impression. It also can be used as a spread cover not to slip and slide around more on the bed, especially in winter.
Please choose the cloth by your favorite color or texture and quickly spread it over the table. When food or cutlery are on the cloth, the appearance and the taste impression can be mysteriously changed. The area around the table inevitably gets dirty. Then please feel free to wash it comfortably.
For sofas that spend a lot of time in contact with the skin, you will notice a change in comfort by choosing the texture of the fabric you touch according to the season. Using it in a natural and rough way is simple and fresh.
“14-23" is pursued a seriously basic fabrics and created by Dan Namura, who knows fabrics from all over the world by his hands.
The basic line consists of a thick cloth with a good texture using recycled technology and a thin cloth that lets in comfortable and natural light.
We also offer a seasonal collection based on these basic fabrics, with prints or embroidery for each season and theme.
The thick cloth is durable and a highly textured yarn made by recycling the scraps and leftover yarns that are inevitably produced in the manufacturing process of all kinds of cloth.
The thin cloth is flexible by mixing various characteristics of yarn in a well-balanced way to let in comfortable and natural light in.
This fabric is created by connecting scraps that end up being left over at the sewing site to create a new design.
A creator who is abundance of textured and graphic fabrics, as well as a wide range of creations for sofas, bags, and fashion.
In 2008, he was selected for "Tendence" in Germany, which evaluates young designers.
In 2010, he was selected to represent Japan in the textile category of the Elle Decor Design Award, which is considered the Academy Award of the design world. He was the first person outside of Europe to be selected for the Heimtextil in Germany, which is the world's largest cloth exhibition. And has been a trendsetter for 10 consecutive years, and has been as an ambassador since 2019.
